Anne C. Demars, 84, of Chester, NH, died Sunday September 25, 2022 in her home. She was born in Methuen, MA on January 18, 1938, a daughter of the late George and Doris (Falck) Demars. She had been a resident of Chester for the past 31 years, formerly living in Salem, NH. Anne had been employed as a clerk for Stop and Shop Supermarket in Amesbury, MA and also Purity Supreme Supermarket in Salem, NH for many years. Anne was known by many for her flair for fashion, she modeled on Essex Street in her younger days. She loved clothes, jewelry and always kept up with the latest trends.
She is survived by sister-in-law, Isobel M. Demars of Naples, FL. Her niece, Linda Sands and husband Thomas of Chester, with whom she lived. Her nephew, Donald Demars and wife Evelyn of Pelham. Nieces, Susan Miller and husband Brian of Derry, Karen Diramacca and husband James of Naples, FL, and Alyssa Demars and husband Matthew Heersink of Arvada, CO. She was predeceased by her brother, Clyde F. Demars.
Anne was blessed to reconnect with her son, Douglas Howes of Atkinson, NH after giving him up for adoption. She received a letter from him and opened it on Easter Sunday 2015, and she was very excited to meet him after so many years.
Anne had many adoring great nieces and nephews, Derek Sands of Arvada, CO, Chelsey Candela of Astoria, OR, Zachary Sands of Chester, William Demars of Tyngsboro, MA, Jessica Demars of Hudson, Megan Puglise of Nashua, Nathan Miller of Derry, Joshua Miller of Nashua, Samantha Diramacca of Austin, TX, Matthew Diramacca of Naples, FL and Lula, Milo and Ian Demars of Arvada, CO. She also leaves behind 14 great-great nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, private graveside services will be held in the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen, MA. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is assisting the family with arrangements.
