Obituary

Kala L. Cox passed away at age 48 peacefully at home on Thursday, September 8th, 2022. He resided with his family in Hyde Park, MA.

Born January 20th 1974 in New York to Garfield DeViere Inniss, Jr. and Stephanie Cox (both deceased). He was raised in Boston Massachusetts and educated in the METCO School System, graduating from Newton South High School, Newton, MA and attended Northeastern University. He worked for many years at Charette Printing Company in downtown Boston as well as other local jobs. Kala loved family, friends and sports.

As a youth he attended Sunday School at United Emmanuel Holiness Church in Roxbury under Bishop Samuel L. Anderson and Reverend William H. Watkins, Sr. He was an active member of the church’s Teen Fellowship. Later he and his family attended Community Revival & Outreach Ministries under Reverend William H. Watkins, Sr.

He was a devoted father and husband to his family. We will miss his great personality, his warm smile and Denzel swag. He had a big heart and would give you whatever you needed if he had it. He loved all his family unconditionally.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Kyeisha, his loving children Malachi, Kamya, Micah, Kira and Kyla. Siblings: Sanji Cox, Zakia Cox, Malika Cox and Frank Cox as well as other close family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 1st, 2022 at Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Avenue, So. Boston, MA at 2:00 pm. Repass at The Guild, 260 Washington Street, Dorchester, MA at 4:00 pm.
