S. Ronald Harper, 83, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Thursday, September 22, 2022, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Sunday, September 25, 2022, at the Lax Holiness Church, in Coffee County, Georgia, with the Rev. George Carroll Paulk and the Rev. Ike Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 30 minutes in the sanctuary of the church before the services.
Mr. Harper was born April 12, 1939, in Coffee County, Georgia, to the late Elisha & Dessie Allen Harper. He lived in the community most of his life and owned and operated Harper’s House Moving for over 40 years. Mr. Harper enjoyed camping, crappy fishing, and spending time with his family. Moving houses and buildings was his passion. He was very grateful for all of his employees and customers he had served through the years. Mr. Harper was a member of Riverbend Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children: Denise Harper Payne & Rick of Fitzgerald and Daryl Harper & Yvonne of Ocilla; grandchildren: Dwayne Youngblood & Ashley, Jonathan D. Harper & Sammie, and Kristen Harper & Stanley Anderson; five great-grandchildren and siblings: Charles Harper of Irwin County, Alicia Harper of Adel and Mary Forbes of Monroe, North Carolina. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his companion, Ouida Faye Clark; a great-grandson, Ryan Seth Williams; four sisters and five brothers.
