NEW BEDFORD… Leon J. Anctil, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, MA.
Born in Fall River, Leon was son of the late Wilfrid and Bertha (St. Pierre) Anctil. He lived most of his life in the area, between Fall River and Westport.
Leon previously worked at JJ Corrugated Box, Four-Square Village Garage, LeComte’s Dairy and as convenience store clerk at Tedeschi Food Shops prior to his retirement.
In his spare time, he enjoyed watching sports and reading.
Survivors include: sisters, Bernice Ganczarski of Fall River, MA, Lucille Fernandes of Somerset, MA, Bertha Drapeau of North Hampton, NH, Constance Cabral of Somerset, MA and Bernadette Medeiros of Fall River, MA; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Leon was predeceased by his siblings, the late Henri Anctil, Roger Anctil, Wilfrid Anctil, Ronald Anctil, Leona Sarlo and Jacqueline Menard.
