LEICESTER; Paul E. Gallant, 86, of Leicester, died Saturday, September 17th peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Carol M. (Pratt) Gallant, a son, Michel and his wife Jan of Oxford, 3 daughters, Nancy McLaughlin and her husband Billy of Polkton, N.C., Wendy Maynard and her husband Kevin of Worcester, Di Gallant, Jim Gibney of Leicester, 3 sisters; Violet Albriecht, Gloria Allian, Irene Dutcher and her husband Laurie of New Brunswick, Canada, 3 sisters-in-laws; Shirley, Doreen, Dianne, 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins from both Canada and the U.S.
He was predeceased by his parents, Emile and Margaret (Surrette) Gallant and siblings Eddy, Edna, Dorine, Roy, Oscar, Florence, Bill, Ben, Norman and Eugene.
He was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. He came to the U.S. and worked at Reed & Prince in Worcester for over 20 years.
He was an avid collector. He loved his Red Sox and Patriots. Paul was always willing to help anyone, he always seemed to have whatever you needed from his ‘Magic Shed’.
He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He spent most Saturdays driving his yellow Volkswagen, visiting friends and neighbors, his ‘Saturday Stops’. We can't forget his love for the lottery and scratch tickets.
Paul, Husband, Dad, Pepere will be forever missed.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 27th at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main Street, Leicester. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the church. Burial will be private in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph/St. Pius X Parish, 759 Main Street, Leicester, MA 01524. MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester is directing arrangements for the family.
