Agnieszka J. Jankowska-Durham, age 41, of Winchester, died peacefully Sunday, September 18th, due to complications with cancer; she was surrounded by her family and friends.
She is survived by her dedicated and loving husband of twelve years, Christopher D. Durham. She leaves behind her loving father Czeslaw Henryk Jankowski and her mother Ewa Elzbieta Jankowska (Waligorska). Her brother Lukasz Jankowski and his wife Barbara, and their daughter Hanna, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins who all loved and cherished her.
Agnieszka was born on October 15, 1980 in Poznan, Poland, with a life threatening condition. Thanks to the efforts of many friends on both sides of the Atlantic, she was able to receive medical treatment in Boston. She was a fighter, ready to overcome everything in order to survive and live her own dreams. Despite numerous rounds of surgery and hospitalizations, she was always showing her patience and smile.
Agnieszka was an active participant in the local Winchester community, working as a vocal member of the Disability Access Commission and volunteering for many years at the Brio Integrated Theatre. There she was serving people with disabilities, with whom she developed tight and long lasting friendships and for whom she was a life model. She was a kind and empathetic human being with an open heart to people of different walks of life. She was determined to live independently. She will be remembered by all those whose lives she touched. They all will miss her deeply.
Relatives and friends may visit Saturday, September 24th, at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St, Medford, from 4 to 7 PM with a service of remembrance at 6:30 PM. Burial will follow in Poznan, Poland, at a later date.
