NO.BROOKFIELD: Stephen J. Coupe, 60, of No.Brookfield, died suddenly on Sunday, Sept. 18 on Lake Lashaway, No.Brookfield.
He leaves his partner of 6 years, Wendy C. Barstow of No.Brookfield with whom he lived, his sons; Erik Coupe of Manchester, CT. and Kevin Coupe of Northboro, his father; Charles Coupe and his partner Susie Kirkman of Sebring, FL., his brother; Jeffrey Coupe of Worcester, sisters; Linda M. Ressler and her husband Mark of Barre and Sharon Giggey of Leicester, nieces and nephews.
He was born in Holyoke, MA., the son of the late Joan (Mannix) Coupe who died in 2014. He later graduated from Leicester High School and attended Johnson & Wales Univ. in Providence, RI.
Steve was a forklift driver for Imperial Distributors in Worcester.
Known as “Scoupe” growing up, Steve always stayed active. Whether it was yard work and tending to his garden, fishing, golfing, snowmobiling, or skiing around the world, he never stayed still. A man of many talents, he will be remembered as an amazing chef, sculptor, ice carver, world traveler, and someone who always knew a way to fix something that was broken. He had endless stories that he would share with anyone willing to listen. He passed his love of all these things down to his sons, fishing and golfing almost every weekend in the summer and getting onto the mountain as much as possible in the winter. He will be gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
Memorial calling hours will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24 from Noon to 2 p.m. with a prayer service at 2 p.m. in the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to; The Willing House (WDR Sober Living, LLC.) https://thewillinghouse.com/ or North Brookfield Fire Rescue.
