Angelo A. Leone, age 97, of Medford passed away on Saturday, September 17th. Raised and educated in Boston’s North End, he was the son of the late Gaetano and Nancy (Malvone) Leone. Angelo proudly served in the Army Air Force during World War II, after which he settled in Medford and graduated from Bentley College. Angelo worked for 42 years as the treasurer for London Harness Co. in Boston.
Angelo enjoyed the many years of his retirement, traveling to West Palm Beach in winter with his beloved wife to visit their many friends, and spending summers in Lovell Lake, New Hampshire. He was a devout Catholic, and was very involved with St. Francis of Assisi parish, where he volunteered his time.
Angelo was the beloved husband of the late Theresa E. (DeNunzio) Leone, and the devoted father of Mary Ellen Leone, and the late David C. Leone and Margaret A. McGillivray. He was the loving grandfather of Theresa, William and Elizabeth McGillivray, and Gina and Mia Leone. Angelo was the dear brother of the late Pasquale Joseph Leone, Agnes Cunningham, Josephine Fiantaca, Louis Leone and Gaetano Leone, and is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, September 23rd at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday, September 22nd, from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
