Kearney, Elizabeth “Betty” (MacCurtain) of Foxborough, MA, formerly of Dorchester passed away on September 11, 2022. Beloved wife of Michael E. Kearney and adored mother of her two sons, Michael W. and Brian P Kearney. Loving daughter of the late Pearse J. and Mary C. MacCurtain also known as “Mac and Molly”. Cherished Sister of Mary “Claire” Sullivan and her late husband John L., John MacCurtain and his wife Jane, Chief of Boston Fire Dept. (Ret.) Kevin MacCurtain and his wife Maureen, Robert MacCurtain and his late wife Judith “Judy”, Thomas MacCurtain and his wife Gail. Also survived by many in-laws, cousins, 22 nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
Elizabeth grew up in St. Margaret’s Parish in Dorchester before marrying in 1984. She loved family gatherings and meeting friends, walking Castle Island and Nantasket Beach with her family and traveling and exploring. Elizabeth was a retired employee of over 20 years from the MBTA Design and Construction Dept. and of the former NYNEX company for more than 10 years
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday September 20, 2022 at Charles F. Oteri and Son Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St., Franklin beginning at 8:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, 58 Carpenter St., Foxborough, MA to be celebrated at 10:00 AM.
Internment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Foxborough.
