Theresa (Capizzo) Cardillo, age 90, longtime resident of Medford, passed away on Tuesday, September 13th, at Massachusetts General Hospital of Boston. Born and raised in Salemi, Trapani, Sicily, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Caterina (Amari) Capizzo. Theresa immigrated to the U.S. in the 1950s and settled in Medford, where she was employed as a seamstress.
Theresa was the beloved wife of the late Francesco P. Cardillo, and the devoted mother of Joanne Mortell and her husband Steven, and Peter Cardillo and his partner Beata Zysk. She was the loving grandmother of Steven, Cory and Nicole Mortell, and Monique, Christina and Cassandra Cardillo. Theresa was the loving great grandmother of Bryce, and the dear sister of the late Enza, Rosetta, Maria, Francesca and Vito Capizzo. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In accordance with her wishes, all of Theresa’s funeral services will be private.
