New Bedford – Joseph Brum, age 70, New Bedford, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022, after a long illness with his family by his side. Joseph was born in Sao Miguel, Azores Portugal and was the beloved son of the late Maria and Alfred Brum. He was a machinist for Gerson Inc. for over 25 years. He loved to fish, work on cars, and was an avid football fan. He especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Brum, of 47 years and his two daughters, Christie Brum and Stacey De Melo. He is also survived by: his brother John Brum and wife Leisha Brum; his sister, Lucy Phila and Joel Phila; his sister Vicky Mare and her husband Joe Mare; his brother Luis Brum and wife Lucy Brum. He also leaves behind two grandchildren: Camila and Benjamin De Melo as well as many nieces and nephews.
Joe's visiting hours with his ashes present will be held on Tuesday, October 4th from 5-7 P.M. His funeral will be held on Wednesday at St. Anthony of Padua Church at 11 A.M., everyone is kindly asked to meet directly at the Church. Burial will immediately follow in St. John Cemetery.
