It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Mary A. (Hamilton) Delivorias, age 88, at home surrounded by her loving family, on Sept. 2, 2022. She was born on April 12, 1934 to the late Alexander and Catherine (Kane) Hamilton. Mary is predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, James N. Delivorias, who passed away in March of 2019; her oldest son Nicholas Delivorias in April of 2016 as well as her siblings Kathleen Barton, John Hamilton and Sam Hamilton. She was also predeceased by her brother-in-law Philip Davis, William Davis and Peter Delivorias and a sister-in-law Sophie Speliopoulos. She is survived by her daughter, Elena Delivorias and her fiancé Dennis Moore and her son Alexander Delivorias, all of Springfield; her 2 grandchildren, James Brin of South Hadley and Alexis Delivorias of Southwick; 3 sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. She was born and raised in Springfield, graduating from Tech High School, Class of ’52 and retried from Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company in the 80’s. She was an avid New York Yankees fan and attended many games with her brother John. A lover of old movies, she also enjoyed reading, baking, spending time with family and friends, especially her Friday afternoon shopping trips with her friend Shirley. The family would like to thank Bay State Hospital Staff and also Bay State hospice. A special thanks to Father Ephraim Peters, a close dear friend of the family whose weekly visits she looked forward to. Visiting hours will be held at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM with a prayer service to take place at 11:00 AM in the funeral home.
