JoAnn (Raphael) Sykes, 87, of New Bedford passed away peacefully on Friday, August 19, 2022. She was the wife of Irving J. Sykes, Jr.
Born in Mattapoisett, daughter of the late Joseph and Irene (Gonsalves) Raphael, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
JoAnn loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed reading and cooking. JoAnn worked in Human Resources at Carol Cable.
Survivors include her husband; her children, Anne-Marie Trigueiro of Virginia Beach, and Dennis Sykes and his wife Lucy of New Bedford; a sister-in-law Nancy Raphael; and her grandchildren, Amy, Dennis Jr. and Jessica.
Her Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 10 AM in Holy Name Church, 121 Mt Pleasant St, New Bedford.
