Erlinda “Linda” Doris Hernandez, 73, passed away peacefully at her home in Ventura, California on September 4, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Linda was born in Compton, California on January 19, 1949 and moved to Ventura, California in 1966. She graduated from Ventura High School in 1967. She met and fell in love with Simon and married soon after. They celebrated their fifty-second wedding anniversary on July 18, 2022. Linda worked as a supervisor for 3M/Imation for thirty-seven years before retiring. She was a generous and thoughtful person who never missed a birthday, anniversary, baptism, wedding, or graduation for anyone close to her. Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and godmother. She will forever be remembered for her dedication to family life.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Guadalupe Padilla, her brothers Frank Padilla and Thomas Padilla and her sister Laura Aguilar. She is survived by her husband Simon Hernandez, sons Simon P. Hernandez (wife Dawn), Tommy Hernandez (wife Lisa), Mike Hernandez (wife Angie), her thirteen loving grandchildren: Tommy, Miranda, Mariah, Sienna, Angelica, Simon, Gabriel, Jacob, Linda, Mikie, David, Vincent and Santiago, nephew Joey Martinez (children: Daniel, David, Ricardo & Violet), sisters Rebecca Padilla, Nancy Padilla, Yvonne Velasco (husband Tino), brothers Steve Padilla (wife Juanita), Eddie Padilla (wife Loraine), Robert Padilla (wife Lorraine), sister-in-law Gracie Padilla. She was also a godmother to many.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours to be held on Thursday evening, September 22, 2022 from 4-8 pm at JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street, Ventura, CA, where a Holy Rosary will be recited at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 3175 Telegraph Road, Ventura, CA. Burial to follow mass at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura, CA 93003.
