Carmelo Santos, Jr., 46 of Worcester died Sunday, September 4th in UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus. He leaves his son, Carmelo Santos of Worcester; two daughters, Angelica Santos of Worcester and Miranda Santos of Leominster; his step-son, Jonathan Cabrera of Leominster; five grandchildren; his mother Miriam Mojica of Worcester; four sisters, Margie Santos, Elaine Santos, Diana Santos, and Lisa Santos all of Worcester; his ex-spouse and beloved friend, Omayra Santos of Leominster; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Carmelo Santos, Sr. and his brother Steven Santos.
He was born in New York City the son of Miriam Mojica and Carmelo Santos, Sr. He worked as a mover for a local moving company for many years. Carmelo enjoyed playing handball, kayaking, and riding his motorcycle. He loved watching sports and the fireworks at Polar Park in the summertime. He would light up a room with his smile and never-ending jokes that his friends and family loved. Carmelo was known for being very helpful and would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
His calling hours will be held on Friday, September 16th from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM and Saturday, September 17th from noon until 2:00 PM in O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue. His funeral service will begin at the conclusion of calling hours on Saturday. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family with arrangements.
