Richard “Dick” D. Brennan, 75, of Taunton, MA, passed away at home surrounded by family on September 7, 2022. Born in Taunton, Dick was the son of Robert E. and Lorraine (Dumoulin) Brennan. He attended school in Taunton, graduating from Coyle High School in 1965. He then attended East Coast Aerotech, training as a helicopter mechanic. He worked at Sikorsky Aircraft in CT before making a career change to banking. Dick held many positions over the years from surveying to sales before going to work alongside his brother Paul at New England Photoconductor in Norton, MA before retiring in 2020.
Dick’s true passion was not in the office however; it was as a husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. A dedicated family man of faith, he loved golfing with his wife and friends, working alongside his wife to care for their beautiful yard, vacationing with family, celebrating life’s occasions, and perhaps most of all, cheering on his favorite Patriots football team with family and friends.
Dick is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marianne, his daughter and son-in-law Laura and Matthew Mansfield of Wareham, Ma, son and daughter-in-law Matthew and Kelley Brennan of Taunton, beloved grandchildren; Abigail O’Connell, Evan Mansfield, Liam O’Connell, Hailey Brennan and Hannah Brennan. Dick is also survived by his brother Robert and sister Phyllis of Sebastian, FL, brother and sister-in-law Andrew and Gina Scherben and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in passing by his father, mother, and brother Paul.
Dick will be best remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and his wholehearted love for his family. The funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Norton, MA on Friday, September 16th at 11am. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass from 10-11am. at St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton. Donations in Dick’s memory may be made in lieu of flowers to the; Lewy Body Dementia Association, (https://www.lbda.org/).
