Martha Ellen (Hardacre) Carpenter, 82, of Anderson, died September 8, 2022 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus after an extended illness.
She was born September 6, 1940, in New Castle, the daughter of Lester and Marguerite (Beckett) Hardacre. She attended Anderson College. She was a wonderful homemaker and mother who loved her family. She attended several fellowship groups and Christian Women's Club at Grace Mennonite Church in Morton, Illinois. She loved gardening, and Tole painting and being a Den mother for her son's Cub Scouts.
She is survived by her son, Paul (Renee) Carpenter of Mapleton, Illinois and daughter, Amy Anderson of Anderson and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frederick Allen Carpenter; son, Scott Allen Carpenter and a sister, Elenor Hardacre.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at East Maplewood Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Stephens officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's Association in the name of her husband, Allen Carpenter.
