New Bedford - Viva Lee Beausoleil, 89, of New Bedford, died Sunday September 4, 2022. She was an avid dancer who began her career as a dance instructor at Arthur Murray dance studio where she met her husband.
She was a loving mother of seven children and was known throughout the community for her kindness and generosity. She had a rich faith life and was a parishioner at St. Lawrence Church. She loved to sing in the choir, was an active member of the St. Lawrence Couples Club, and volunteered for church activities at Holy Family and for several Franciscan charities.
Viva was the widow of John Thomas Beausoleil and the daughter of the late Hattie Ellen Hamilton and Marion Francis Underwood. Survivors include her children, William Marshall Beausoleil, Mark Tyrone Beausoleil, Jane Robbin Pittsley and her children William Cordell and Eric Cordell, Maria Lucy Pinheiro and her husband Victor Pinheiro and their children Victoria Pinheiro and Mia Pinheiro, John Peter Beausoleil and his wife Lisa Beausoleil, and Catherine Anne Beausoleil.
She was also predeceased by her daughter, the late Dawn Theresa Wilkinson and her husband Richard Wilkinson.

Viva’s visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Perry Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Her funeral will take place Friday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
