Charles Ronald "Chuck" Carlson, 89, of Anderson, passed away Friday evening, September 2, 2022 at Beaumont Healthcare in Anderson.
He was born on January 2,1933 in Anderson, the son of John T. and Alma (Hunkala) Carlson. Chuck was a 1951 graduate of Anderson High School, served in the US Army during the Korean War, and later was employed by Delco Remy for 39 years as draftsman/engineer. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and enjoyed woodcarving and all sports, especially playing tennis and golf. He was an avid IU Basketball fan.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Carol Lee (Fisher) Carlson, whom he married July 27, 1958 in Anderson; two sons, Charles Brian (Brenda) Carlson of Indianapolis and Craig Alan Carlson of Anderson; two grandsons Kyle and Kurt Carlson; brother, Marvin Carlson; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, John and Paul Carlson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 2 pm at Christ Lutheran Church with Rev. John Jameson officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery with Military honors.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022 from noon until the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be given to Christ Lutheran Church or Madison County Humane Society.
