Worcester- (Formerly of Concord, MA) Francis “Frank” William A’Hearn, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 1, 2022. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Margaret C. (Platts), a son Christopher A’Hearn and his wife Darlene; two daughters, Jennifer and her wife Catherine Corliss, and Jillian Koranda and her husband Jeffrey; two grandchildren Christopher A’Hearn Jr.and his wife Bianca, and Camron A’Hearn; great grandchild Gabriella A’Hearn; sister Marie Duffy and several loving nieces and nephews.
Frank was born in Medford, son of the late Clarence J. and Alice L. (Collins) A’Hearn. He graduated from the Roxbury Latin School, and upon receiving his Civil Engineering degree from M.I.T, he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He received his Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Nebraska, and spent most of his career in financial and engineering management of construction projects. He also thoroughly enjoyed teaching within the UMass system.
While living in Concord, he served on the Board of Assessors and the Cemetery Committee. He also served on the Finance Committee of Our Lady, Help of Christians, West Concord.
Upon retirement, he and Margaret moved to Saco, Maine, where he became an avid gardener, willing volunteer, keen participant in Life Long Learning and enthusiastic traveler.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 11:00am at St. Michael’s on the Heights Episcopal Church, 340 Burncoat Street, Worcester. A private burial will be held at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord at a later date.
