Obituary

Millicent S. Meckowski, 74, passed away on September 1st at Saint Luke's Hospital. She is formerly of Dighton Massachusetts, to most recently of Hathaway Manor 863 Hathaway Road, New Bedford, MA. 02740. She is the widow of Paul Meckowski. Millee was born in New Bedford on March 15th, 1948. She was the daughter of Colonel Samuel Wagstaff, born in Fall River, and Helen Spooner also born in Fall River. Millee was a graduate of the Cape Cod Community College LPN 2 year program. Millee is survived by her brother Dr. Samuel Wagstaff, cousin Helen Levesque, four daughters Beth Meckowski, Janna Meckowski, Christina Meckowski Steiner, and Marilee Schryver. As well as her five granddaughters Carissa, Lilah, Samantha, Jayla, and Violet, and two grandsons Matthew and Jackson.

Millee enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her seven grandchildren. Her compassion for others affected all parts of her life, not just her career, but through providing a safe space for every friend in need. She loves animals, sailing with her husband, and family vacations to Florida.

Friends and family are welcome to attend a one session visitation at Wilson Funeral Home at 479 County Street, New Bedford, Massachusetts 02740 on Wednesday September 7th. The calling hours will be from 5pm to 8pm. The funeral service will be held the following day at First Congregational Church at Lund's Corner 2195 Acushnet Avenue, New Bedford Massachusetts at 10am followed by burial at Rural Cemetery next to her husband Paul Meckowski. Attendees are welcome to join the family after burial at the Wamsutta Club 427 County Street, New Bedford for a celebration of life.
