On August 31, 2022 Richard S. Burns beloved husband of the late Janet R. Burns (Flemmens), passed away peacefully at his home.
Richard, or “Poody” as he was affectionately know by family and friends, was a hard-working man, loving husband, devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather, kind neighbor, and friend. He was a military veteran who served in the Army and Army National Guard. He touched countless lives while teaching shop class, working as a postman, and frequenting VA and Military establishments. His Patriotism and love for his country were well established. Though ornery at times, he served and sacrificed for many and was loved by all. A man of few words, but his love for his family was felt in volumes.
He is preceded in death by his parents, late Richard C. Burns and Madalene M. Burns as well has his sister late Barbara Johnson. Survived by sister Gail Evans.
He is the devoted father of Brian Burns, Chris Burns and his wife Valerie, Kevin Burns, Judy Rankin and her husband Craig, Joy Stein and her husband Aaron, and John Burns. Loving grandfather of Carrie Erie and her husband Craig, Justin Burns and his wife Sydney, Andrew Burns, Christopher Esser, Taylor Esser, Willow Burns, Braden Burns, Madeleine Burns, Addison Burns, Kieran Stein, Chloe Stein, and Charlotte Stein. Dear great-grandfather of Hannah Erie, Rory Burns, and Griffen Burns.
