Constance “Connie” (Donahue) Berdos, 86, of Taunton, passed away on September 1st in her home following a period of declining health surrounded by her family. Connie was born on February 25th, 1936 to the late Julia (Woodward) Gallagher and John Donahue. She was the wife to the late Peter Berdos. Connie was a graduate of Dighton/Somerset High School and Pondville Hospital School of Nursing. Connie retired as a nurse from Paul Dever State School in 2001 and as a bartender at the Gondola Restaurant and Segregansett Country Club.
Connie will be remembered as a social butterfly and the “life of the party.” She was always on the go. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and dominos with her friends, golfing, spending time with her family, playing keno, and cuddling with her beloved dog, Brandi. In the summer, she enjoyed her camper at Bayview, beach with friends and music at the Chart Room. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Connie was the loving mother of Peter Berdos and his wife Lori of Bellingham, Sandy Grundy and her husband Steve of Taunton, Penny Cassese and her husband Charlie of Taunton, David Berdos and his wife Donna of Dighton, and Kimberly McCarthy of Framingham. She was the cherished “Gram” to Peter and Richard Berdos, Mark Cassese and his wife Courtney, Matthew Cassese and his wife Brittany, Allyson and Samantha Grundy, Ryan Berdos, Kyle Berdos and his wife Hailey, and John and Erin McCarthy. She was also the great grandmother of Emerson Berdos.
She is survived by her sisters Julie Rezendes of Assonet, Peggy Cardello of Assonet, Barbara Kaminsky and her husband Bruce of Chatham, brothers Paul Gallagher and his wife Carol of Litchfield, ME and Joseph Gallagher and his wife Anne of Attleboro, MA. She was the sister of the late Major John Donahue. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home 70 Washington Street in Taunton Thursday, September 8th at 9 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Jude the Apostle Church in Taunton at 10 am. Visiting hours will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 7th from 5:00pm-7:00pm.
