Obituary


Mr. James Michael Elderkin a resident of Derry, New Hampshire, and former resident of Waltham, Massachusetts, died accidentally, on Tuesday, May 16, 2006. He was 58 years old.
Born in Bangor, Maine, on June 3, 1947, he was the beloved son of the late Walter and Alice E. (Goodale) Elderkin. He was a long time resident of Waltham, before moving to Derry, New Hampshire, two years ago. Mr. Elderkin was a very loving and devoted single father of his three daughters. He had been a machinist for many years at Linco Tools in Watertown and most recently was a machinist for Screwmatics, located in Ipswich. In his spare time, Mr. Elderkin enjoyed playing cribbage and cards with his friends and also enjoyed playing the lottery. He also had a special love for animals, especially his own two dogs.
Mr. Elderkin will be sorely missed by his three beloved daughters and two sons-in-laws; Alice A. Elderkin and her husband John F. Pellegrini of Malden, Tammy M. and her husband Mark A. Gauthier of Derry, New Hampshire and Holly J. Elderkin of Malden, two sisters; Sandra Godfrey and Brenda Arnold both of Maine; seven grandchildren, Crystal, Tessa, Jake, Dakota, Ashley, Amelia and Victoria. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service was celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Friday evening, May 19, 2006, at 7 PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visitation was prior to the service from 4 to 7 PM. Interment will be private.
