Edward D. Johnson, Sr., 80 of Derry, NH, died Tuesday, May 16, 2006 in the Haven Healthcare Center, Derry. Mr. Johnson was born in Little Rock, AR on August 8, 1925, a son of the late Jasper and Nona Lee (Swaner) Johnson. He was a resident of Derry for the past 20 years, formerly living in Windham, NH. Mr. Johnson was a Ret. Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy having served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a life member of the VFW Post 1617, Derry. He was an avid golfer and member of Hoodkroft Country Club, Derry. He retired from Kollsman Corp. in Merrimack, NH as a senior manager. He was a loving father.
He is survived by four sons, Edward Johnson, Jr. and Robert Johnson, both of Cambridge, MA, Brian Johnson and his wife Elizabeth of Shirley, MA, David Johnson and his wife Ann of Nashua, NH, a daughter, Karen Jagodynski and her husband Rick of Danville, NH, a step-daughter, Tracie Rusaw of Derry, four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, three sisters, Esther Gatlin, Doris Eiken, Agnes Reed, three brothers, Butch Johnson, Bill Johnson, John Johnson, and is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Jeannine E. Johnson in 2005.
Calling hours were Friday May 19th from 5 - 8pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. The burial will be in the Pinecrest Memorial Park, Alexander, AR. The Roller-Ballard Funeral Home, Benton, AR will handle graveside services.
