Doreen A. (Scorzoni) Colombo, age 68, of Medford passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, August 28th, surrounded by her family, after a short battle with cancer. Born and raised in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Gloria (Zirpolo) Scorzoni. Doreen lived in Medford for 40 years and was a devoted wife, mother and Nana to her 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was an all-around “Super-Nana” and loved spending time with her family at their vacation home in NH.
Doreen was the beloved wife of Salvatore Colombo, and the devoted mother of Tracey Allen and her husband James, and Richard and Kristi Landano, all of Medford. She was the cherished step-mother of Janine Doran of Norton, and the late Russell Colombo. Doreen was the loving grandmother of Kaylie, Ryleigh and Jack Allen, Alannah McGrail and her husband Derek, Emilee, Raychel, Stephanie and Lydia Landano, and Hailey, Heather and Dominic Doran. She was the loving great grandmother of Aalyiah and Jaylen McGrail, and the dear sister of Carol Shikles and the late Robert Scorzoni. Doreen is survived by her nieces and nephew, Rhiana Shikles, Christian Scorzoni and Jennifer Sadowski, and many loving cousins.
Visiting hours have been respectfully omitted. A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, on Saturday, September 3rd at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Doreen’s name to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Division of Development/Jimmy Fund, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
