James “Randall” Tillery, 58, of Tifton passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2022, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Rickey Wells officiating. Mr. Tillery will be laid to rest at Omega Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The family will be meeting at 178 Wesley Rigdon Road in Tifton.
Steve Arrington, Jamie Dillard, Steve Keith, Wendell Arrington, Frankie Hall and Dr. Jeffrey Peters will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Arrington, Richard Robbins, Thomas Hancock and Ricky Hill.
Born February 27, 1964, in Tift County, Mr. Tillery was the son of the late, James Laborn Tillery and Hazel Laverne Smith Tillery. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Gayle Tillery. He was a 1982 graduate of Colquitt County High School. Randall worked in sales for many years with MSI, Patrick Tractor and Nashville Tractor. He had retired from public work in 2019. He continued to work with Steve Arrington on the farm after retirement.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was a devoted husband, brother and father who loved his family and friends. His favorite past times included riding around the farm on his ATV, grilling Sunday evening meals and spending free time with friends and family.
Mr. Tillery is survived by his wife, Karen Arrington Tillery of Tifton; his children, Brandon Shane Tucker (Nita) of Fitzgerald and Kaylee Tillery of Lyman, South Carolina; one sister, Rhonda Grace Tillery (lovingly known as Worm); and his best canine friend, Lucy, who was his sidekick and partner in crime. She would climb up in the tractor and stay with Randall all day long. She never missed a chance to be with her favorite human.
