Doris Catherine Tompkins, 89 years old, passed away on Friday, August 26th 2022 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA with family by her side. Doris was born on July 11th, 1933 in Lawrence, Massachusetts to the late Adrian and Florence (Gaudet) Dionne. She was the beloved wife of the late Arvard W. Tompkins, they were married 35 years. Doris and Tom resided in Nahant and St. Croix, USVI for over 40 years. Doris graduated from Central Catholic High School and was a talented painter. She painted landscapes and portraits of her grandchildren, as well as hand painted a special Christmas card every year for those close to her. Doris loved her family and large group of friends, she always made time to be there for every special event. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Arvard W. Tompkins, her parents Adrian and Florence Dionne and, Grandson Jeffrey Bishop. She is survived by: her two sons Al Lahood and his wife Laura, and Mark Lahood and his wife, Nicole of Andover; her three stepchildren: Kris Bishop, and her husband Dan, of Melbourne, FL; Scott Tompkins and and Edita Pilipaviciene, of Middleton; and Tracy Besky, and her husband John, of Middleton; a brother-in-law: the late Robert and Patricia Tompkins, of Derry, NH, and their children Robert, Randi Lee and Mark; one brother; Andy Dionne and his children Colleen, Kim, and Joseph of Lawrence. twelve grandchildren: Alexander, Kaitlin, Olivia, Abraham, Benjamin, Madeline, Catherine, Teresa Lahood; Justin and Jeremy Bedard; Ashley Bishop and Tiffani (Bishop) and Dusty Cole; eight great-grandchildren: Lexzy and Shane Scott, Peyton, Rebecca and Waylon Cole, and Kaylieh, Colton and Cadence Bedard, and Jaxxon Bedard.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours August 31st at Burke-Magliozzi Funeral home 390 North Main Street, Andover, MA 01810, from 4-7 PM.
