Martin E. Murray, Jr., 74

Martin E. Murray, Jr., age 74, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 25, 2022, while celebrating his 50th wedding anniversary, aboard a cruise ship in Alaska. He was the beloved husband of Eileen A. (Kehrmeyer) Murray.

Born in Boston, MA on September 15, 1947, he was a loving son of the late Martin E., Sr. and Margaret (Ford) Murray.

Marty grew up in the Mission Hill neighborhood of Boston and was a 1965 graduate of Mission Church High School. Prior to retiring he had worked for the Telephone Company, a career that spanned thirty-five years. He began as a Lineman and retired when the company operated under the name of Verizon as a Fiberoptic Cable Technician.

A resident of Mansfield for the past forty-eight years, he was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield. Marty was a member and past president of the Mansfield Jaycee’s, and had the distinction of serving as a Senator on the organizations state level.

Marty truly loved spending time with his adoring family, which included wonderful family vacations and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was also an avid New England Patriots fan and a proud season ticket holder for fifty-three years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted children: Juliane Stamos and her husband Dennis of Blackstone, Brian Murray and his wife Erin of Mansfield and David Murray and his wife Andrea of Attleboro. He was the cherished grandfather of Connor Murray, Benjamin Murray, Markos Stamos, Nikolas Stamos and Maggie Murray. He was the much-loved brother-in-law of Michael Kehrmeyer and his wife Mary of Wrentham and Phillip Kehrmeyer and his wife Patrice of Hingham. He was the dear cousin of Patricia Kirker and her husband Edward of Marstons Mills and is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, September 2nd from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 3rd at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
