Edward J. Veiking, age 55, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Kerry A. (Condangelo) Veiking, to whom he was wed for twenty-three years.
Born in Boston, MA on August 5, 1967, he was a loving son of Linda (Fawson) Veiking of Marshfield and the late James Veiking.
Ed grew up in Watertown and was a 1985 graduate of Watertown High School, excelling in hockey and baseball. He had made his home in Mansfield for the past seventeen years and for the past seven years was employed an Account Manager at Valor Global.
Ed’s family was the essence, focal point and greatest gift in his life. He served on the Board of Mansfield Youth Baseball and while his children were growing up, coached baseball, hockey and proudly attended all of his children’s sporting events. He was an ardent New England sports fan, an avid fisherman and was always at home on the water aboard his bass boat.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his devoted children: Kacey Veiking and J.T. Veiking, both of Mansfield. He was the dear brother of Heather Hoffman of Marshfield and Michael Veiking. He was the much-loved son-in-law of James and Nancy Condangelo of Foxborough and Orlando, Florida and the special brother-in-law of Colleen Honan and her husband Kevin of Brighton, Kara Pugh and her husband Ian of Naples, Florida and Jamie McAndrews and her husband John of Foxborough. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews and his beloved Golden Retrievers “Cooper” and “Finley”.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, August 30th from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield. Burial will be private.
