Obituary

A. Truman Nugent, 87, of Londonderry died Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry after a lengthy illness. He was born in Manchester on June 17, 1918, a son of the late Herbert William and Ethel (Ellis) Nugent and has been a Londonderry resident for many years. Prior to his retirement in 1981, he was employed as a journeyman plumber by Queen City Plumbing for more than 12 years. He had previously been employed by the former Lewis Salvage Shoe factory in Manchester. Truman was an original member of the Londonderry Volunteer Fire Department and remained an active member for many years. He was a member of the Londonderry Senior Citizens and was an avid woodworker and gardener.

He is survived by his wife, Louise R. (Bartlett) Nugent of Londonderry; a daughter, Allie DeCampo of Londonderry; two sons, Fred T. Nugent of Derry and Raymond P. Nugent of Capatchet, RI; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, George Nugent of Derry; several nieces and nephews.

Following cremation a private burial service will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery, Londonderry at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Building, 360 Route 101, Unit 8, Bedford, NH 03110-5032.
