Mary D. “Mouse” (Packer) DesRoches, age 64, of Norton, passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 26, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur J. “Tiny” DesRoches, to whom she was wed for forty-two years at the time of his recent death on April 26, 2022.
Born in Needham, MA on January 16, 1958, she was a loving daughter of the late Robert E. and Mary E. (Butler) packer.
Mary grew up in Dedham and was a graduate of Dedham High School. She was employed as a secretary in the Accounts Payable Department at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury and was previously employed for many years at Packer Commercial Combustible in Dedham, a business which was formerly owned and operated by her family.
Mary was a Norton resident for over forty years and was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Norton and a former member of the Dedham Women’s Club. Her family was the essence of her life and her grandchildren, the apple of her eye. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her devoted children: Ryan M. Packer and his wife Sasha of Quincy and Christina M. Page and her companion Richard Brown of Norton. She was the cherished grandmother of Zachary Page, Alexis Page, Marlee Page and Harlan Packer. She was the dear sister of Barbara Galasso of Lowell, Nancy Kaune of Groton, CT, Sister Joan Packer, M.S.B.T. of Philadelphia, Carol Anderson of Florida and the late Christine Ross, Robert Packer, Stephen Packer and Richard Packer. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Saturday, September 10th at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 1 Power Street in Norton. Burial will follow at Cedar Knoll Cemetery in East Taunton.
