Obituary

Michelle Renee "Shelly" Fisher-Brown, 57, of Anderson, peacefully entered her eternal home on August 24, 2022 surrounded by her daughter and loving family.

She was born October 30, 1964, in Anderson, the daughter of Edward Lee Fisher and Julie (Lewis) Wiley.

She is survived by her daughter, Meagan (Tyson) Cooley, mother, Julie (Michael) Wiley; siblings, Stacy (Rick) Hollenback, Brandon (Elizabeth) Blake, Abby (Spitzmesser) West, Dana (Robert) Steele, Mike (Stephannee) Gibson , Shellie (Jason) Taylor, Micah (Patrick) Magee, Jennifer (Mick) Spitzmesser, Heather (Spitzmesser) Ligon; three grandsons, Ma-Tyis Cooley, Adontae` Cooley and Adonis Cooley; aunt, Judy (Donald) Pine and several nieces, nephews and cousins who were very special and close to her, whom she loved dearly.
Shelly also held a very special place in her heart for the following friends and extended family that she loved very much, Jeremiah Brown, Ricky Peak, Melanie (Fox) Brown, Shelley (Vest) Lyons, Kim Morgan, Lisa Roman, Betsy Buchanan, Morgan Mullins, Bob Blake, Morgan Bryan, Howard Spitzmesser and all of her California friends and loved ones.

Shelly graduated from Highland High School, home of the Scots, in 1982, where she enjoyed being a majorette. Shelly went on to nursing school at IUPUI-Kokomo and became a LPN and worked at Community Hospital in Anderson while continuing her education to become a Registered Nurse. Shelly worked in several departments at Community Hospital until she found her calling as an OB-Labor and Delivery nurse. In 2013, Shelly decided to become a traveling nurse and help out in areas with nursing shortages. She soon landed in Eureka, California, where she ended up settling until her devastating diagnosis in 2019, of stage 4 colorectal cancer.

Shelly was a social butterfly who enjoyed being with friends, family, eating good food, drinking Pepsi, singing karaoke and had a blast singing in several bands at events in Northern California. Shelly had a beautiful voice that will never be forgotten. She loved cooking and feeding others. Shelly was sassy, silly, stubborn, determined, independent, hardworking and always a true friend, daughter, sister, mother, niece, aunt and cousin.

She fought a long, hard three year battle and she gave it her all! Multiple chemo treatments, clinical trials, surgeries, immunotherapy and she never gave up; she fought until her very last breath. Her courage and strength was amazing to witness.

She was preceded in death by her birth father, Edward L. Fisher, paternal grandparents, Walter and Mary Fisher, maternal grandparents, Maxine and Ernie Cole, aunts & uncles, Jacque and Douglas Wallace, Jeanine and Victor Douglas, Donald Pine; and a cousin, John "Johnnie" Whipple.

Nursing Honor service will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2022 followed by a memorial service at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Glenn Knepp officiating. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.
