Obituary

Michael Joseph Ferrantino, Sr., 79, of Methuen, formally a long-time resident of Andover, passed away at home surrounded by his family on August 24, 2022.

He was the beloved husband of Janet A. (Jeffrey) Ferrantino, with whom he would have celebrated 56 years of marriage on November 12th.

Born in Boston on January 5, 1943, he was the son of the late Onofrio Ferrantino and the late Catherine (Umbro) Ferrantino.

Michael was raised in Brighton. He was a graduate of St. Columbkille High School and Northeastern University.

Michael had a long and storied career spending 25 years at Microwave Associates (M/A-com) followed by many senior leadership roles at several technology companies. Throughout his career, he took great pleasure in being a mentor to many. He retired as Chief Executive Office of the LGL Group in 2019.

As accomplished as his career was, his proudest title was that of Nonno. He considered every moment he spent with his five grandchildren to be a celebration and was always there to offer support, guidance or to slip a twenty-dollar bill in their pocket.

He loved the ocean and enjoyed many summers with his family at his former vacation home in Harwichport, MA. For the last eleven years, he also spent portions of the winter with his wife at their home in Naples, FL, where they were blessed with many good friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, daughter, Catherine M. and her husband, Charles “Chip” Jacques, and son, Michael J. and his wife, Leigh, as well as five grandchildren, Peter, Logan, Nicholas, Carter, and Kaitlyn, all of Andover. Brother, Joseph P. Ferrantino, of Gloucester, and was predeceased by brother, Peter O. Ferrantino. He also leaves extended family and many friends.
