John E. Williams, age 70, of Sanford, ME, formerly of Lowell, passed away peacefully, Monday, August 22, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. John was born in Cambridge, MA to the late George and Viola (Dahlgren) Williams and raised in Woburn.
He graduated from Woburn High School, Coyne School of Electricity, Northeastern University and received his Master's Degree in Management from Cambridge College. He was an Associate Professor and Director for The Coyne School at Mt. Ida College. Was recently retired as an Estimator for McCurdy Electric.
He is survived by the love of his life, Michelle (DeMaio) Williams with whom he recently celebrated their 40-year Wedding Anniversary alongside family and friends. He leaves behind his siblings, Robert Williams of Groveland, Kathleen Phinney and her husband Jack of Westford, Bruce Williams of Scottsdale, AZ, and Lauren Williams of Littleton.
John was a wonderful father to his children, Rachel Williams of Pelham, NH, James DeMaio and his wife Dori of Methuen, Ma, Matthew Williams and his wife Cindy of Beverly, MA, Michael Williams and wife Brianna of Windham, NH, Darcie Stevens and husband Derek of Sanford, ME, and Martha DeMaio and husband Chad of West Roxbury, MA.
He was adored by his grandchildren who affectionately call him Papa. They include Dominic, Sophie, Vincent and Anthony, Antonia, Camille, Jay and Courtney, Michael, Lucy, Jacob and Lucas, Quinn, Lilah, Kobe and Kail.
John loved family above all else but also enjoyed attending Bluegrass festivals with friends, playing the banjo, listening to music, hosting family cookouts and playing with his dogs. He had a quick wit and could make everyone laugh with his jokes and stories. He will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know and love him.
Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Saturday, August, 27th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home will be held on Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m.
