Arthur R. LaPointe, 77, of West Springfield, MA passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born on July 10, 1945 to the late Roland and Irene (Ostiguy) LaPointe in Ware, MA. Arthur graduated from Hardwick High School and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Arthur worked as a carpenter for most of his life, but also held a variety of other jobs such as a police officer, owner of a tire business and a senior Mass Pike toll collector. Arthur was very outgoing, loved putting a smile on anyone’s face and enjoyed joking around with his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was always there for his family. He was passionate about his Catholic faith in God, stood up for his beliefs and made it his life’s mission to spread the word of God. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Karen (Hill) LaPointe, brother Robert LaPointe, three daughters Celine Churchill, Eve (LaPointe) Grenon and Aimee LaPointe and son Matthew LaPointe and his wife, Ashley. Arthur had six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also predeceased by his sister Joanne Piller. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 47 Pine St, West Springfield on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 10:00 AM followed by a Christian burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Rd, Springfield.
