Dale was born December 7, 1954 in Valdsota, Ga. to the late William Roy and Betty Jean Dempsey Lasseter. He spent most of his life living in Tifton, GA and attended Tift County Schools. Before his retirement, he worked for more than 36 years in the vending business and was affectionately known by his friends as the “candy man.” He was a very exuberant personality and loved meeting and talking with people and never seemed to meet a stranger. He loved to travel, mow grass, work in his yard, and spend time with his family and friends.

Dale’s three sons were his pride and joy and he loved being involved in every aspect of their lives. In their younger years, he coached them, and numerous other young athletes, on several recreation baseball teams, was a leader in the Royal Rangers and Pioneers for Christ at his church, and was an active chaperone for the Tift County Blue Devil Brigade while his sons were members. His whole world revolved around his sons and family.

Dale was a member of Carpenter Road Church of God. He loved his church family and enjoyed telling others about Christ and his church. For several years he volunteered in many areas of the church and served in several capacities. He was faithful to change light bulbs, air filters, and many other things that often went unnoticed by others.

He is survived by the love of his life, Phyllis Walker Lasseter, his three sons and their families: Jamie (Laura) Lasseter of Tallahassee, FL; Rev. Monty (Regina) Lasseter of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Michael Paul (Robin) Lasseter of Tifton, and his seven adored grandchildren; Walker and Dawson Lasseter of Tifton, Kaleb, Karson, and Kylee Lasseter of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Brooks and Caden Lasseter of Tallahassee. Other survivors include his only sibling, Roy (Jan) Lasseter of Tifton, his sister in law, Rhonda (Wes) Shannon of Tifton, brother in law Durl Baldree of Lenox and his nieces and nephews: Kirk (Mimi) Baldree, Jeff (Marcie) Baldree, Marc (Joy) Shannon, Maggie Shannon, Kevin (Jennifer) Lasseter, and Stacy (April) Lasseter along with several great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved poodle, Molly, who was always close to his side.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law Eston Horace Walker, his mother-in-law, Ouida Williams Walker, and a sister-in-law, Patricia Walker Baldree.

The family would like to express our love and gratitude to Ms. Tammy Bell of Moultrie for the attentive, loving, and tender care she showered on Dale for the past four months. Her companionship and love for our entire family was beyond any expectation and will never be forgotten.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to Carpenter Road Church of God, 40 Carpenter Road North, Tifton, GA 31793.
