Salvatore Reid passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital on Sunday, August 14th. He was 66. Born in East Boston and raised there and in Waltham, he was the son of Jeanette (Guerreri) and the late John Reid. Salvatore enjoyed a long career in the produce industry, working at the famed Fleet Fruit Co for over 35 years. He was well liked and respected by his many co-workers. Devoted to his family he enjoyed taking care of his Medford home and spending time with his family and friends.
The beloved husband of Nancy M. (Rossetti) Reid, he leaves his loving children: Christina Reid of Medford and Michael Reid and his husband Eli Reid of Medford, John Lordan of Waltham. The devoted son of Jeanette (Guerreri) Reid and the late John Reid, he was the dear brother of late Jean Verbanas, Donna Thomann of Waltham, John Reid and his wife Sheila of Marlborough and David Reid of Marlborough. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Salvatore’s funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford on Wednesday, August 24th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church 118 High St. Medford at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family on Tuesday from
4 – 8 PM.
