Walter R. Lambert Jr. passed away at the age of 69 on Aug. 15, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. Born on Dec. 27, 1952, he grew up in the city of Worcester Ma. He was affectionately known to his friends and family as “Wally”. At the age of 17 he joined the US Army, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War. He earned a National Defense Service Medal as well as the Vietnam Service Medal with two stars. Wally was a machinist by trade and excelled in all areas of carpentry. His natural talent for fixing anything often had him taking on the most difficult of projects. He was a very hard worker who would be the first to lend a hand to help others.
Wally enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He loved to cook for large groups of people. His favorite pastime was being out on the ocean. He was happiest being out on his boat with a fishing pole, friends and family. He much enjoyed spending time at the Nantasket Beach Salt Water Club, in Hull Ma. He was also a great storyteller and remarkable with the most difficult of jigsaw puzzles. Wally was an easy going humble man who liked the peaceful simple pleasures in life.
He spent the last 30 years in the small community of Hull Ma., living with his significant other, Sandra L. Bopp and his beloved sidekick pup, Katie. Wally was a single father who will be terribly missed by his son Brian Lambert and his wife, Carmen Lambert of New York. He is survived by his sisters; Nora Orsi, Marcy Lambert and Nancy Gross. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as several grandchildren.
Wally will be deeply missed by his family, his friends and all who knew him.
Family and Friends are invited to join the funeral service at Bourne National Cemetery; located on Connery Ave, Buzzards Bay Ma. 02542. Service is at 2:00 pm , Monday August 22, 2022. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date (TBA) at The Nantasket Beach Salt Water Club.
