It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved Rolanda Rae Monteiro. Rolanda left this world unexpectedly at 29, on August 1, 2022, at her residence in East Rutherford, NJ.
Rolanda was born in Fall River, MA on June 3, 1993, to Luis Monteiro (of Brockton) and Tonya Oliver (of Fall River).
Rolanda was a lover of the arts and fashion and enjoyed singing, listening to music, cooking and to dress beautiful. She was a loving person with a big smile that could be seen through any crowd. Rolanda loved culture and was proud of her African American and Cape Verdean roots. Rolanda spoke three languages including her native language of English and taught herself to speak Cape Verdean Creole and Spanish. She was funny, silly and vivacious but introverted and introspective, appropriately a self-proclaimed “Baddie”, a symbol of power, beauty and grace. Rolanda was fearless in life and always did things her way. Rolanda’s stubborn yet loving and caring personality will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
When you think of Ro, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest.
