Gloria P. (Goodsnyder) Neville, of Bridgewater, formerly of Canton, passed away on May 16, 2006 after a brief illness in the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was 73 years old. She was the beloved wife of 52 years to Edmund J. Neville Jr.
Born October 14, 1932 in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the cherished daughter of the late Nathan and Rose (Fleitman) Goodsnyder.
Mrs. Neville attended Boston Public Schools and was a graduate of Dorchester High School, Class of 1950’.
Mrs. Neville retired from the former Goddard Hospital in Stoughton, where she was employed as an Office Manager in their Telemetry Department for several years. She was also employed by the former Baybank in Canton as a Head Bank Teller for many years.
Throughout her life Mrs. Neville was actively involved with the Head Start Foster Care Programs, in both the Bridgewater and Canton areas. She was a very dedicated and loving Foster Mother and Teacher to many children.
She was the loving mother of Gary J. Mendelson and his wife Carolann, of Tallahassee, FLA, Deborah J. Larsen and her husband Peter of East Bridgewater, William J. Neville and his wife Gayle of Milton, Patricia A. Colp and her husband Scott of Bridgewater and Michael B. Neville also of Bridgewater. She was also the cherished sister of Geraldine R. Chobanian of Randolph. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday May 19, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations to The American Cancer Society, 1115 West Chestnut Street, Brockton, MA 02301, in Gloria’s memory, would be appreciated.
