Roy Tassinari, 92 of Hanson, MA died peacefully at home on Aug. 14 surrounded by family and friends. Roy was born in Hanson on 12/23/29 to parents Frank Tassinari and Anna (Hollein) Tassinari.
His career was long and varied, starting as a machinist at Sigma Instruments, pizza cook at Rocky Marciano’s restaurant in Hanson and continuing through the years as an entrepreneur, owning his own tool & die company, sheetrocker, restaurant owner, Irish moss diver, lobsterman, sausage maker, and possibly, but never verified, moonshiner.
Roy graduated from Whitman High School in 1948 where he played football and hockey. He enjoyed traveling the country with his late wife Dana (Wright) Tassinari, riding his Harley, digging clams and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by daughter Glinna Tassinari and 2 sons, Mike Tassinari and Vinny Tassinari, 7 grandchildren; Kati, Jason, Frank, Phil, Michael, Jessi and Leah and 4 great grandchildren; Adrienne, Jake, Stella and Joan, and nieces Robin Casey Lundgren and Leslie Casey Eddy, nephews Paul Tassinari and David Tassinari, and many friends.
A celebration of Roy’s life will be held in September
