Ronnie Champion, 64, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Jeremy Cox officiating.
Mr. Champion was born November 27, 1957, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Emory & Peggy Chesser Champion. He lived in the community all of his life and graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1976. Mr. Champion was a former supervisor for Gilman Building Products and a night security guard for Fitzgerald Utilities. He loved to play golf and fish.
He is survived by his daughter, Amy Mitchell & Chris Giles of Leesburg; a grandson, Jake Mitchell; a step-daughter, Tina McMillan & Tim of Fitzgerald; step-grandchildren: Erica Mandrell and Cody Bazemore; and three brothers: Robert Champion & Candy of Cohutta, David Champion of Adel and Donald Champion & Elaine of Fitzgerald. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Elaine Dorminy Champion.
