Dorothy “Dottie” (Charles) Dormady, age 66, of Abington, previously of Brockton, died peacefully at her home on August 14, 2022. Dottie was the loving wife of David Dormady for 20 years. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Florence (Vasseur) Charles. Dottie was raised and educated in Dorchester.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who truly enjoyed raising her six children and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Though she could be feisty and stubborn, Dottie had a huge heart, especially for her family. She looked forward to her trips to Foxwoods, Atlantic City and Las Vegas and to playing darts and poker.
Dottie was the mother of Alicia Cummisky and David Oneto of Brockton, Pamela Cummisky of Brockton, Steven Cummisky and Erin Neill, Christine Sullivan and her husband Richard of Brockton, Stacy Nuzzo and her husband Anthony of Peabody, and the late Christopher Cummisky. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and was the sister of Alan Charles of Weymouth, Susan Charles of Raynham, Patty Charles of Lynnfield. Gilbert Charles of Dorchester and the late Robert Charles, Pamela Charles and John Charles.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 24, from 3-6pm at Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 6pm.
