Real C. Noel, Jr., 62, of Sandown, NH died Monday, May 15, 2006 at the Boston University Medical Center in Boston, MA. Real was born on June 22, 1943 in Manchester, NH, a son of the late Real C. and Alice (Arsenault) Noel, Sr. He had resided in Sandown for the past 37 years, formerly living in Derry, NH and Manchester. He served in the US Marines during the Cuban and Laotian Crises and in the US Air Force. He worked for several electronics companies, as a finish carpenter, upholsterer, and tradesman in building construction. Real was also a woodcarver who won many awards for his work. Real was an extremely active member of the Island Pond Baptist Church where he served as deacon and worked with the Prison Ministry. His helpful nature was well known and exemplified by his involvement in building several local churches. Real was a adoring father and a “very caring and loving person” who “was known for his hugs.” He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Real is survived by his wife of 38 years, Elizabeth J. (Geisser) Noel of Sandown; his two sons: Real C. Noel, III and his wife, Jamie of Raymond, NH and Christopher R. Noel of Sandown; three brothers: Robert Noel of Florida, Roland Noel and Brian Noel, both of Manchester; two sisters: Constance Gilman of Manchester and Judith Noel of Goffstown, NH; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were on Thursday, May 18th from 6-9 PM in the Island Pond Baptist Church, 26 N. Salem Road, Hampstead, NH. Funeral services were held on Friday at 2 PM in the church. Burial will be at a later date in the West Hampstead Cemetery. Peabody Funeral Home and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling arrangements.
