George R. Terris
Beloved husband, father, and grandfather
TEWKSBURY: George R. “Tucker” Terris, age 67, a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, August 14, 2022, following a brief battle with cancer.
He was the beloved husband of Joyce A. (Lisay) Terris, with whom he would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on August 17, 2022.
Born in Lowell on December 27, 1954, he was the son of the late James and Elizabeth (Cushing) Terris.
George was raised in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School in 1973.
Following high school, he attended Middlesex Community College, where her received his A.S. Degree.
Prior to being diagnosed with cancer in May of this year, George worked as a realtor for Sarris Real Estate, Inc. of Lowell for the past 15 years. He previously worked for 30 years for the Wang Corporation in Lowell and Tewksbury.
George loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, Ford mustangs, playing with his six grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of his life, and coaching his children in the Tewksbury Youth Soccer Program.
George was the loving husband of Joyce A. (Lisay) Terris. Devoted father of Shelley A. Wrobel, a teacher at the Dewing school in Tewksbury, Christine M. Kydd, a social worker for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and her husband John R. Kydd, Jr., all of Tewksbury and the late Robert G. “Robbie” Terris, who passed away on April 25, 2004. Doting grandfather of, Brooklynn and Maddie DeGrechie, Maci Wrobel, Johnny, Robbie and Evie Kydd. He was the brother of Richard Terris and his wife Mary Jane, of Tewksbury, Kathleen Terris, of Lowell, and the late Brenda Terris, Mary Gail McQuaid, James Terris and William “Tommy” Terris. He leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Calling hours are Sunday, August 21, from 4-7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. His funeral procession will begin on Monday, August 22, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Route 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, 90 River Road, Tewksbury.
