Irene Strykowski, 78, of Windham, NH passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 15, 2022, after a short period of declining health. She was born in Manchester, NH, on February 19, 1944, to the late Reginald and Jeannette LaPlante. After graduating from St. Joseph High School, Irene went on to become a bookkeeper, retiring from her career with the Londonderry School District.
Irene enjoyed spending her time with family, traveling, attending theater performances, watching the Red Sox, reading, and observing nature. She was known for her love of cats and was rarely without two or three close by.
Irene will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 50 years, Thomas Strykowski; her two daughters, Karen Strykowski of San Antonio, TX, and Kristen Strykowski of Windham; her sister Carmel Boissonneau of Amherst, NH; several nephews, nieces, dear friends, and her three cats. Irene was predeceased by her brother, Roger LaPlante in 2004 and two infant siblings.
There will be no calling hours. Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 1 South Rd, Londonderry, at 11 am on Saturday, August 20, 2022.
