Janice V. Alphonse, 81

Janice V. “Jan” (Weed) Alphonse, age 81, most recently of Attleboro, formerly of Taunton and Norton, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the presence and care of her loving family on Monday, August 15, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Alphonse, to whom she was wed for forty-seven years at the time of his death on December 24, 2015.
Born in Boston, MA May 7, 1941, she was a loving daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Mezzetti) Weed.
Jan grew up in the Roslindale neighborhood of Boston and was a graduate of Roslindale High School. Prior to retiring, she was well-known and well-liked as a door greeter at BJ’s Wholesale Club in Taunton where she was employed for nineteen years.
Jan’s family was her greatest gift in life, especially when surrounded by her grandchildren. She possessed talented artistic skills for ceramics and paintings and her other hobbies included sewing, cooking, shopping, dining out and a “sweet tooth” for trips to Foxwoods Casino.
She is survived by her devoted children: Eric J. Alphonse and his wife Nancy of Norton and Renee M. Botticelli of Middleboro. She was the cherished grandmother of Caleb Tripp, Gianna Botticelli, Alexandria Botticelli, Arianna Alphonse and the great grandmother of Aria, Ashton and Annabella. She was the dear sister of her twin Joan Sacco of Attleboro, Ronald “Ronnie” Weed and his wife Diane of East Bridgewater, Patricia “Patty” Francis of Norwood, the late Richard “Richie” Weed, the late Linda Weed and the late John “Jackie” Weed, who is survived by his wife Linda Weed. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, August 20th from 3:00-6:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street, Norton. Burial will be private.
