Jane Marie (Barrett) Harper, 65, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2022, at Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH following declining health from lifelong illnesses. She grew up in Keene, NH. Other places she lived were Penacook, NH; Contoocook, NH; Essex, VT; and had resided in Londonderry for the past 21 years.
Mrs. Harper was born in Keene, New Hampshire; daughter of the late Maurice Barrett. She is survived by her husband Gary Harper of 41 years, daughters Sara Harper, Melissa Surprenant and her husband Chris, family’s Eclectus parrot, Lizzie; mother Ruth Barrett, brother Timothy Barrett, sister Judy Laplante; Mother-in-law Nyleen Harper, brother-in-law Mark Harper and his wife Sandra; and nieces and nephews Johnathan Hanscome, Emily Sullivan and her husband Kyle, Christian Barrett, Paul Laplante, Derek Harper; and great nieces and nephew Annabelle Hanscome, Melanie Manchester, Lucy Hanscome, McGregor Sullivan.
Jane was a stay-at-home mom for many years for her two daughters. She loved cardinals, children, and the color green. Things she enjoyed were RVing, playing board games with her daughters, having parties outside in the yard with her family, and reading books to her daughters. While her daughters were in school, she would volunteer at them. She wanted to have her own daycare, but it never happened due to her health.
Her hobbies included reading books, knitting, crocheting, crafts, puzzle books, and putting puzzles together. In most recent years, she laughed and interacted with Lizzie along with her antics which filled a good part of her days.
