Obituary

Diane E. Kilar, 52 of Londonderry, NH died on Sunday May 14, 2006 at her home following a sudden illness. Diane was born in Providence, R.I. on October 1, 1953, a daughter of Alice M. (O’Rourke) Smith and the late Charles Andrew Francis Smith, Jr. She had resided in Londonderry for the past 25 years, formerly living in Connecticut. Diane received her BSN from the University of NH in Durham. Diane worked as a longterm home healthcare and hospice nurse in the greater Derry area, including her employment with Rockingham VNA-Hospice of Derry. She was active in scouting in Londonderry when her children were younger. Diane was an avid quilter and was active in the Amoskeag Quilting Guild in Manchester.
She is survived by her husband, Edward M. Kilar, Jr. of Londonderry, two sons, Benjamin M. Kilar of Manchester, Andrew D. Kilar of Londonderry, her daughter, Carin L. Kilar of Penacook, her mother, Alice M. Smith of Providence, R.I., four brothers, Charles Andrew Francis Smith III of Coventry, R.I., Gary W. Smith of W. Warwick, R.I., Jeffrey A. Smith of Ashland, MA and Shelton, CT, Christopher D. Smith of Warwick, R.I., three sisters, Deborah L. Fairchild of Hampstead, NH, Susan L. Jones of Gaylord, MI, Cynthia J. Moore of Pascoag, R.I. She also leaves several aunts and uncles and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours were on Friday May 19th from 5 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry Cremation followed. Memorial services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New England Quilt Museum, 18 Shattuck St., Lowell, MA 01852.
